I have a question. On the diagram it's state that the green and red wire goes into the one slot. But on my car the orange wire is in the one slot, and the diagram states that wire shouldn't change. Needless to say I am a bit confuses.

If anyone is buying new late model tail lights, try to order the 2006 victory lights. Even better than the newer jewel lights! They have a smoked lens and look awesome!! I don't think they even cost any more. Gaudin jaguar parts ordered mine.

My 02 xkr rear left is missing 1/3 of its chrome around the light. So is that replaceable or is it easier to simply replace the whole light?

If I'm looking at replacement, can someone show examples of the various years so we can all easily judge what is to our taste (original vs jewel vs 06 victory) ???

Victory vs jewel. Victory has the smoked lens and jewel is one shade of red.
And you'll have to replace the whole light if chrome is missing. Or order chrome trim rings for birth lights from Mina gallery or Adamesh. It's a bigger trim but will be cheaper.

And what about exchanging only the lenses? Isn't it an easier way for that?

Unfortunately, they don't come off, unlike he headlight lenses. You could possibly heat them and try but Jaguar lights don't open as easy as other brands. And the little chrome trim will break easily too. I tried to open to add led rings in them but gave up. And I don't give up easily!! Lol.

Anyway it seems to be less agressive as the other way...

Give it a try!
Would love to see an easier technique explored.

I'll do it but not myself. I'm going to go a specialist of dashboard and plastic restoration. I hope he can do it...

I think so, too. I prefer the style of the non-facelift model. I really don't like the latest version of the X100 bumpers and headlights.

Maybe I'm just out of sync...but to me, a 2000 model ought to look like a 2000 model. If one want's a newer look, one should buy a newer Jaguar .

Wait, I have these brake lights on my 2003 XKR, and except for the passenger brake light assembly being repaired, there is no reference that the car came from the factory any other way, as the original tags and date stickers are still on wiring and components. The 'smoked' appearance does not seem as dramatic on my brake light lenses as on the Victory Edition's, as viewed side by side on philhefs picture, but it is not anywhere near that solid red appearance of the other brake light either, in fact it is more 'blood red' than brake light 'red', and you can clearly see the three jeweled reflective circles day or night. Although, I guess if I wanted to spray my lenses inside with a can of 'smoke tint' from the auto parts store, I could darken the outer areas on mine to match the level of darkness on the Victory Edition, as the brake light design on my car appears to be the same. I came across some documentation when I bought this car, have no idea where it is now, the paperwork not the car, that said my car has the 'Black Pack' option, or 'Black Out' package, or something along those lines from the factory; I know it was a special order car. I also notice the lack of chrome overall on my car as well; in fact the only shiny chrome bits are the chrome rings around the brake lights, and they look like an afterthought, the door handles inside and out, the 3-piece mesh screen, the 'shift' knob has a bit of chrome, but mostly black leather wrapped, and the exhaust tips. All of the remaining metal and badging such as, the 4.2 Litre plate with a key hole to open the trunk, the XKR plates on the driver's side of the trunk and body sides, the door 'sill' plates (thresholds?), and the BBS 'Detroit' wheels are all subdued, and not bright and shiny at all, and the lettering appears to be laser etched.

I disagree. Unless someone strictly wants a factory made model, there's nothing wrong with updating their car. There's nothing wrong with either! I can appreciate a flawless original model for what it is, as well as a modified car that shows an owner's passion and love for their car.
In so many areas of our lives, we choose to be unique, our clothes, homes, hobbies, so why should it stop short of our cars!
I say live and let live!
There are very few cars that can't be improved on, otherwise we would have one model, no facelifts, no refinement, no options to choose from, just the exact same car as everyone else.
One last thought. Even the original designers base the car on their perception of what they think is right. Everyone has their own taste and perceptions that are just a valid. May not be mine or yours, but that doesn't make it any less correct in their eyes.
Nothing is more cutting than a disparaging remark about someone's pride and joy. I make a point to never be negative when commenting on someone's car. I may make it clear it's not exactly my taste, but I do try to let them know it's cool, or interesting, or well done.
It doesn't cost a penny to be kind or thoughtful before making a statement.
So, for all the other modifiers and customizers out there, Stay Calm and Carry On!! You make the roads interesting!!!
