2006 XK8 side quarter windows won't go up
My top on my 2006 XK8 quite working, must have broke a hydrolic line because all the fluid leaked out under the top clip on the windshield frame. I had to use the allen wrench to close the top, but my side quarter windows won't go up. I checked all the fuses and did a hard reboot by removing the battery cable, but nothing works. Any suggestions?

First check the fluid for your roof system, the tank is located in the trunk on the right facing forward. If the tank is full then check that the petcock is closed. If you have a leaking system you can still close the windows but you will need to lock the roof linkage. The roof is operated by two rams to push the roof closed one of the rams has switches that must be satisfied before the windows will operate. If you think you can you will need lock the rams into position. You can do this by reaching behind each window between the roof and the headliner and push up on the linkage on both sides.

I caution you not to force or bend any part of the roof system it only needs just a little movement.

Hi, My back windows on my 2000 XKR are not operating. The passenger side is completely up and doesn't respond. The back driver side window is stuck halfway, I do hear a grinding sound. slippage or the relay isn't responding. I have a new battery but disconnect when it sits in the garage. I checked the hydraulic tank, although slightly low, 1/4 inch from the full line on the tank, seems to be ok. Thank you. Tony

You will need to repair the regulator on that window. Its a labor intensive process but parts cost is minimal.
