Default 2006 XKR VE Dash Kit Parts - Carbon Fiber

I have the above mentioned year and model of XKR with the Carbon Fiber dash (navigation set up). there is a center piece that covers the nav I need to replace and cannot locate any source to get that piece vs the whole dash kit. Anyone have experience? recommendations? tis

I can understand why the wood veneer dash is supplied as a set but there's no similar reason for this with the carbon fibre as pattern matching isn't an issue.

Several dash sets appear on eBay but I can't find any listing a centre section only in veneer or carbon.

Do you need to refurbish yours or is it damaged and needing replacement?

Here's a link to a supplier doing carbon fibre dash sets:

Jaguar XK8 Carbon Fibre Dashboard Set RHD With Sat Nav - XK8 and XKR Interiors

The ad specifies the original dash must be returned with 21 days or a surcharge will be applied. This suggests they do have spare dash sets / parts available. May be worth an enquiry to find out if they can help with a centre section only.

£800 seems like a lot of money to spoil a jag..bet it can be done for less

I know nothing about the process but I've seen someone do a carbon fibre 'wrap' - which I assume is a possible advance on the Blue Peter sticky back plastic.

Thanks to triple G i was able to get in contact with the supplier mentioned above. So opinion question. Thinking about swapping out the CF for walnut, question is what do you think this does to re sell value? you think guys would want the factory option (CF) or do you think it even matters?

CF is part of the high spec of your Victory Edition offered as an alternative to Elm veneer (not Walnut). This was one the few choices open to the original buyer as almost everything on the previous options list was included on these Final Series models as standard.

The lavish hard back brochure Jaguar produced for the model shows that CF was an additional £1000 option. Is appears to be a rarely ordered one as very few used Final Series vehicles are advertised as fitted with it.

At the time it was an impressive material to use and, like it or loathe it, very well done. Unfortunately the many CF 'wrap' jobs have removed the exclusivity from CF as most people would now assume that was what it is.

If the Victory Edition becomes collectible then a buyer would be concerned that the vehicle matched it's original build sheet. The values of the previous limited edition (the Silverstone) indicates collectable status, if it happens, could be a long time in the future.

If I was going to keep the vehicle for a long time, I'd seriously consider fitting a set of veneer and pack the CF carefully away. If selling with five years or less then I wouldn't worry about any possible effect on residual value.

Personally I prefer elm to CF, but as GGG said, you need to keep your car original to get the best residuals.
