1. The transmission. Is this transmission fluid or could it be motor oil? If it is transmission fluid I am surprised I have any left since it has been leaking for a long time.
2. Oil Pan. I have changed the gasket a few years ago, maybe I over-torqued it. Guess I will try to mess with the screws and if I can't stop this leak I will put a new gasket on.
3. Mid Car. Does anyone have any ideas where this one is coming from?
Just bumping this one time to see if anyone has any thoughts on where the oil is coming from. I am going to replace the oil pan gasket this weekend and try to figure out the other leaks.
If your car is equipped with an oil cooler, make sure that the hoses are completely dry and no bulges. An oil cooler hose leak will pump out 8 liters of oil before you know there’s anything wrong.
even with 3 year old Jaguar branded hoses I had a hose failure. It can really ruin your day / week / month / year to run the engine out of oil.
I was fortunate and got the engine shut down before any apparent damage occurred. Now I have a full time oil pressure gauge with warning.
I don't have high hopes but I am going to try a stop-leak product. If that does not work I will buy some new drip pads for the garage. I have to say this dude did a really interesting review, no idea if it will translate in real life.
be quite careful @ stop leak products. If they swell the seals a tiny bit you might be ok but then again they may over swell them...problem being the seals will turn to mush.
Ask me why I'm rebuilding my transmission!
(slight leak, added recommended amount, drove 100 miles=perfect, parked car noticed leak, next day bigger leak, next day more fluid, finally most atf caught in 8 quart pan.)
good luck

It’s very hard to bite the bullet. But using any type of miracle in a can is just a waste of money and time.
if need be, just park the car until you can arrange a proper fix. In the long run fixing the leaks is going to cause you less aggravation and you wont be wasting money on products that aren’t going to fix anything.
never the oil pan always the timing cover…love getting paid to do them would never ever fix my own car. easiest “7 hours” of my life
second one is the oil plug next to the rear main. trans has to come out.
do not fix, spray brake cleaner and pretend you never saw any of this
Xalty,
Do you have a part number or what that plug is called. I need to start researching how to replace it. I have taken my transmission off before so i know I get do that, but I want to understand what i am getting into.
