4.2 2002 Exhaust
Hi. I am buying an XK8 with 87K miles in the UK. Does anyone know what life the standard exhaust system may reasonably have?
What would a non-standard system cost?
Any tips/ideas would be most appreciated!

Unless it was physically damaged by impact, I wouldn't expect to replace the full exhaust system during the life of the vehicle.
Cats do wear and can also be damaged by fuel quality. I had a bad experience with that Spanish 10% ethanol rubbish in my XK8 4.2-S on the E15 at Marbella last year and used 98 octane in preference.
The Emissions Test printout on the current MoT will give you a good idea of whether the Cats are healthy or marginal.
