I recently picked up a box of 4 Bosch 72209 filters - I was told they were correct for my 02 XKR 4.0, but after a bit more search I see they are actually for the 03+ 4.2. They seem about an inch shorter than the 4.0 filter.

Anyone out there use these on the 4.0? Are they still OK to use?

They will fit either engine. The size might be a fitment issue.

 

As has been said 4.2 filters on 4.0 are no probs, however around the other way they do not as the 4.0 filters are longer..... I will not deny this is what I have been told and I can honestly say I have tried to offer up a 4.0 filter to a 4.2.
