Default 4.2 xkr motor into a 4.0xkr

Hey all. Well Seems Ill be swapping in my other motor sooner than later. Its a 4.2 liter out of an 03 xkr. Its a complete motor minus any accessories. I read the 4.2 swap guidelines but it gets a bit confusing as we are talking 4.2's out of xjr's mostly or others going into an xkr. From what I can gather Im good on the top half of the motor by swapping my current valve covers, blower, inlet, TB, SC etc using the 4.2 IC's. Im just not sure accessory wise if my 4.0 stuff will work or do I have to change the front cover...OR anything else I should know??? 4.2 or 4.0 crank pulley /dampner?

I take it you read the main thread for the swap, there all details are to be found.

Remember intercoolers/intake manifolds/injectors go together.
You can use the 4.2 pulley, but then you must swap to a 6 rib belt and a different belt length. You can use the 4.0 pulley one as well, but then you must use the front cover from the 4.0 engine on the 4.2 block.

That's why I asked. Doesn't the 4.2 use the ZF 6HP26?

The bolt pattern on the transmissions are the same. Id be using my MB 5 speed. Id prefer using the 8 rib setup being I just bought all new tensioners. I was trying to keep up with the updates to the original thread and I was getting a little bit lost. I'm sure a few reads Id be able to pull it all apart.

So Id likely like to swap front covers. Are there any tensioner issues with the 4.2 engines? Anything Ill run into I should be aware of. Like I said I do have the entire top end including fuel rails (which I'm unsure I can use ) injectors and all. I guess Ill start searching for motor pulling advice now haha....Oh lord two jaguars is amore than a handful. I am still in denial this motor is shot. I don't even beat the crud out of this car
