Another problem I've got is that the steering wheel adjustment mechanism stopped working in the in-an-out function. The up-and-down function works fine, but when trying to adjust in-and-out I hear a ratcheting sound like a gear is slipping or something. Anyone out there have experience with this..??

 

I have not worked on this myself, but that issue has been reported numerous times. The proper term for this adjustment is "reach" (as opposed to "tilt" for up/down). That should give you more hits in a search.
