Default '97 XK8 Convertible center arm rest cup holder

My XK8 cup holder that's attached to the center armrest is totally worthless...
Would someone kindly point me in the right direction to purchase a new one, help me to understand how to remove and replace this assembly.
Thanks!
Allen

Allen, please clarify why you'd want to replace something that would be equally as worthless?

Or did you in fact break the one in your car?

They do a repair kit for the cup-holder, but in truth it's easier/cheaper just to buy a 2nd hand armrest with cup-holder off of ebay.

PS: Please add the model/year of your car to your signature as opposed to having to put in the thread title

Marky...
The cup holder assembly was in it's current "worthless" condition when I purchased the car back in March.
I guess I worry that buying a used assembly on eBay would not give me a working cup holder.

The advice I was given when I first got my X100 was (and I quote):

Cup holder often fails. When operational it works better to distribute contents of cup(s) over back seat before hand as that is where contents will end up when under heavy acceleration - this is normal. You can also dump it in your lap or the passengers lap if you plan to turn first. Either action saves a step and comes as less of a surprise.

The Centre Console armrest lid was available with or without cupholder. Here's a example of two listings on ebay UK to show the difference:

If you change to the pattern without cupholder, the catch also needs to be changed. One has a plastic clip and the other has a magnetic catch.
