97xk8 not starting
I have a 97XK8 with 47,000 miles, I start it about every 2-3 weeks. Most miles are highway. When I tried to start it yesterday, it fired and then stalled, then it just turned over, and only seemed to slighlty fire but not come close to starting. I thought it could be flooded ( the dealer told me once that you could "flood start" by holding the gas pedal 1/2 way to the floor and cranking it for 30-45 seconds 2 or 3 times), but that did not seem to work. I the just let it sit overnight but again it does not start, although it seems to try.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

My view of the 'flood start' procedure is to hold the throttle fully on the floor while spinning the engine several 30-45 second sessions. Full throttle cuts off fuel preventing further flooding. Wait a minute or two between to allow the starter to cool. Then try it at half throttle.
The battery will indeed spin the engine at a voltage below what is required by the electronics causing all sorts of issues.
That doesn't work try here:

I am the last person to diagnose the problem as there are many more competent mechanics on this forum...
However...same symptoms on my car after it sat for 2 weeks. it was the fuel pump. About a $800 fix.
