Default 98 Guibo Flex disc

Hello all,
anyone care to share words of wisdom On my 98 XK8? it has a cracked Jurid coupling connecting the transmission output shaft to the driveshaft, which is the one piece one, later models have a two piece.
I removed the rear trans mount, the rubber was sheared off. I have a new one for that. There's an X brace above the exhaust pipes that the trans mount bolts to. It's easy to remove the trans mount. But the X bracket won't come out because of the exhaust.
Anyone removed and replaced the Guibo without removing the exhaust system? If the X bracket were out of the way, it would free up access to the Guibo bolts, 3 face forward, 3 face aft.

Default Guibo update

I was able to remove all six bolts without removing either the front muffler or heat shields, however, there is simply no room to extract the forward flex disc. The front of the driveshaft retracts, but there's a dimple on it, and an extension on the output shaft.
So it looks like the forward muffler, aft parking brake linkage, and heat shields must come down. Then, the aft U joint must be unbolted from the diff input, whereas then the driveshaft can be lowered . Only then can the Giubo be free.

Cheers

Default Flexdisc replacement 98 NA

I was able to get to the front driveshaft to transmission rubber donut. I disconnected the two rear resonators from the center muffler. I lowered the center muffler enough to remove the parking brake relay shroud. At this point, the front of driveshaft lowered enough to remove Giubo. No need to unbolt rear of driveshaft or remove center muffler.

i plan to post photos when all done.
