'98 xk8 headlight condensation
1st thanks to the forum for the birthday wish. 1 more year and I get reduced green fees at the county courses. Since I bought my XK8 in Dec of '06 I've had headlight condensation to the point the lights were useless. Last summer my right headlight had a tangle with a Pickup trucks trailer hitch. The glass lost. Bought a replacement lens from Gaudin. I believe the '98 is the only year you can get just the lens. Condensation problem solved there. I want to thank who ever it was that suggested opening the access cover on the lop of the headlight a little bit. I left the side nearest the engine open about a 1/16 of an inch. I put a little black duct tape around the front joint so water couldn't enter. This tape also will keep the cover from popping off. It worked perfect. Rain, frost, temps in the 50's or down in the teens and it has stayed clear. More money the Forum has saved me.

Yay you! Put that savings towards green fees in the upcoming retirement years! I don't know for sure, but I do remember saying several times over the years to just pop the clear top on the lamp, so it isn't totally sealed to vent the humidity from the lamp. I didn't want to pull the whole stinkin thing out to get an actual plastic tee/vent installed. My luck I'd break something.
