if they read codes.. and get c1095 then the abs module needs to get rebuilt or replaced.. if you buy one there like 1800.00 so i wud rebuiled it..

it's ok to drive just no abs and traction control when driving..when lights on.. brakes will still work perfectly..

could it also be a wheel speed sensor going bad? Gotta get the codes read to determine just what you are facing there. The Jag dealer can read 'enhanced' codes that basic scanners cannot, including the ABS system. AutoEngenuity has a code reader that offers the expansion pack, that does almost as much as the dealer, approx $480 total. Sounds like you may have to make a trip to the big city...maybe make a weekend out of it and see a show perhaps. lol

My 2002 XKR does this sometimes. Every so often the ABS light will come on and I will get a message "Traction Control Unavailable".

However, I think in my case it may be tied to changing tire pressure and the rotational speed of the tire. Once I had to run my space saver spare after a flat, and got the message. My Jag guy told me that the reason I got the message when my spare was on was because of the different rortational speeds of the front two tires during medium to hard turns. He said that when the car turns and each of the front tires have really different rotational speeds the computer becomes "confused" and turns the traction control off. Also, very recently I was having problems getting the message, and I seemed to get it only when I made a hard/deep left turn. I just happened to check the tire pressures in my front tires and my right front tire was 3 pounds less that the left. I corrected this and the message stopped coming on when making the same left turn that caused it to come on.

Mine had an intermittent DSC failure twice in 2007, last one in November. Both occurred at highway speeds, so pretty sure mine will be more likely sensor.
