ABS failure XK8 1999
Hi,
Just bought an XK8 1999, 46K, excellent condition.
I was driving the car yesterday when the ABS light went on and a "System failure" message appeared. I turned off the car at the gas station for a few minutes and turned it on again. The light and error message were nothere anymore. Didn't get this error since then.
I also noticed that the car doesn't go straight, it's laying left or right sightly. Wonder if it's linked to the error messageor if it just needs an alignment.
Thanks for your help

RE: ABS failure XK8 1999
I get that fault occasionally also and it goes out after restart. Usually it's just some dirt or debris temporarily blocking one of the ABS sensors. As long as it goes out It should be OK. Now do mean that the car pulls to the left or right ? Also is it the left or the right or both? Again mine also pulls slightly to the left but more so if the road has a little crown to it. I would start with an alignment.
Hope this helps!

I recall a post awhile back about a 'wandering' jag, and was suggested it could be extremely worn bushings on something, cant recall what. Had to do with the steering components I believe. Maybe jag_genious will drop by and fill in the blanks. I think he was in on the diagnosis.
