ABS/Stability Control Fail after thermostat change?!
Recently changed the thermostat on the XK8 and now it throws a "ABS" and "Stability Control Fail" on the instrument panel (but no CPU codes on the scanner).
The car runs fine but the traction control doesn't operate and light up when I push the button.
Could a blown fuse cause this? I'm stumped but will take any suggestions.
Thanks,
JBD

Without having the codes read with the proper software it's only guesswork. I would stay away from the dealer, but in Hawaii your choices may be limited.
There are software packages and code readers that will detect body codes and others may join in with recommendations.

My recommendation would be to remove the covers from the engine and do a very thorough check of each wire connector you can see. It is quite possible that you dislodged a connector while working under there.
The ABS and Traction Control use the Engine Management System for data to function. A loose, broken or disconnected wire that feeds info to the Engine Management System will cause them to issue and alert.
When they don not function they will not cause any problems with driveability.
