ABS/Traction Control Module -- Question
The sensitivity or temperament of the subject has been well documented in various threads. (Module failure, sensor wiring, sensor cleaning, battery at full charge, etc., - all valid) Another component I haven't read too much about relating to the ABS system is maintaining a proper brake fluid level in the brake reservoir.
In the 37 pin ABS Module, two pins are dedicated to the brake reservoir:
LF37-1 Brake Fluid Reservoir Level Switch Reference
LF37-13 Brake Fluid Reservoir Level Switch
I know there is a brake fluid level warning light; however, because these two pins are also part of the ABS Module, could there be cross-over reporting to the ABS system from the brake reservoir level switch?
As brakes are applied over time, pads wear, more fluid is required behind the pistons, lowering the fluid level. Could the Brake Reservoir Switch be so sensitive that any level less than "required?" be contributing to an intermittent ABS light?
It seems that so many sensors and modules throughout the vehicle are tied to one another and most are more than just a "little sensitive".
(If this has been covered in detail, please excuse the inability to investigate thoroughly)
