Default ABS trouble light,

I am at my wits end on my ABS system trouble lights. I am getting the ABS light, the typical messages TRACY not Available, and ASC not available messages. I have removed and cleaned all my wheel sensors, removed and repaired my ABS module which had the typical bad solder joints at the power lugs, and the message is still there. i also checked for resistance on the wiring at the module plug and did not get any readings at all on any of the sockets. I checked for codes after repairing the module and there are no codes with the exception of the typical P1000. Do you have any suggestions. by the way, my car is a 2000 XK8 Convertible with 78K miles.

It's possible that the ABS is not communicating with the ECU properly. It may be necessary to have the car checked with some one with IDS.

Does the ABS/Traction light come on before you move the car, or after it has been driven a short distance?

Perhaps check the wiring harness at each front sensor.....

If you've been unable so far to get resistance readings on the four sensor circuits, that leaves a big question mark ... and that area is the source of many ABS fault warnings.

It would be worth going back at that. Each of the four circuits should read nearly the same as the others, and the values should be in the neighborhood of 1k ohms or 2k ohms, depending on MY.

To probe the correct pins, be sure you're not referring to a picture of the module side of the connector ... it's a mirror-image of what you need.

Yes the light seemed to come on after a very short distance. After it went off the night before, I drove the car into my carport. The next morning i got in the car started it up, pulled out of the driveway, stopped put it in park, put down the convertible top and started to pull away. The ABS light lit back up and so did my frustration level.

Hi.

I agree with Dennis07. You should have some readings from the harness.

Yes, you should get some readings (in ohms) from the sensors. If and when you do, get someone to assist you and while watching the readings, turn the steering wheel and or jiggle the wires going to the sensors, especially the ones on the front wheels.
This is how I discovered a similar problem with my car, where there was an intermittent break in the wire to one of my front wheel sensors.

If you have an ABS light, you have a code. You need a code reader with ABS capability. The cheaper ones do not have this. Most likely, you have a bad link lead to a sensor on the front.
