Active suspension stiff
Long time since I last visited the forum.
I have not really done to much with my Jaguar, except driving it :-)
And the faulty seeking efforts have been moved to my "every day car" - a Saab 9-3 from 2008. That one is really giving me gray hair right now!
Anyhow, strangely enough I feel that the suspension on my Jaguar has improved / getting softer / during normal driving. And that without me doing anything to help.
The only idea I have is that I have, for the first time, just driven it. Not doing some small work on it every week or so (disconnecting and connecting batteri and so on). So it might be that when the car has been driven long enough (km and time) any pending faulty codes that might have been in the system has been reset, and the CATS system have started working again.
Anyhow, I wanted to tell you all what happened and thank you for all ideas and help.
Until next time (I am sure there will be)

Just read your thread Re Hard Suspension-stuck in hard mode. Yes I know it's now getting on for 5 years ago but what happened please? Did you find out what the fault was? I am currently hunting down all mentions of 'Hard Suspension' regarding XKRs. I have a 2005 XKR. I know it was fitted with 'SPORTS' suspension although I have very little idea what this is compared with 'normal' suspension as none of the springs, dampers etc have and markings on them, they are just painted black. Needless to say I believe I have hard suspension, driving over a cats-eye is like mounting the curb.
I have come across a similar thread (Stagnite) indicate problems with wiring from either the suspension sensors or the sensors governing acceleration; earthing seems to be the popular answer but no one ever says where the earthing is occurring, i.e. as it passes through the bulkhead? . So did you find your fault, where was it located and did you fix it?

I did not really find a perfect explanation to the hard suspension that I had/have. But I do think that the last thing I wrote might be correct, that the CATS system needs time to reset some faulty codes whenever you have been fiddling with stuff.
I even thinks that it might be so that when you disconnect/connects the battery the CATS systems goes to hard setting and then it needs to be driven for some time to get some faulty codes comming from the battery disconnection reset.
But this is just guesswork. I believe that my suspension starts working better after a couple of weeks, but it might also just be me that gets used to the hard suspension.
