Default Adamesh Stage 1 and 2 drone

Anyone know of a way to stop the drone? It's not a massive deal but it would be nice if I could get rid of it. Happens at about 1500rpm and at about 3000rpm. At low speeds and rpm and at full throttle above 3000rpm the car has a great sound but it drones really bad at 3000rpm specifically. I will keep the exhaust even if I can't get rid of the drone because I would rather have any noise then no noise at all like with the stock setup.

i am convinced that it is not a drone in many cars but a sympathetic vibration in the surrounding structure. A panel in your car might have been turned into a speaker cone. Try to duplicate it while stationary and have someone listen to various body panels with a mechanic's stethoscope. Might have to remove some interior trim. Once the offending panel is found, attaching some weight to it will help. The area above where the rear boxes were installed is a likely candidate which then turns the boot into a giant speaker box.

i have the Stage 2 only, kept the rear boxes, and really like it. No drone.

I will look into it a bit more. Do you think it's possible it's the heat shields? I don't really want to put the old mufflers back on because I like the new exhaust exits. I kow that there are air vents in the rear above the exhausts, I could probably close these up as they let in water and mud anyway. I will have to inspect some more.

You can not seal the air outlets in the rear. If you do your heating and AC will suffer and you will keep the moisture inside the cabin and soon you would have mould

The best way to find out, other than removing them is to weight them. Try some diving weights with c clamps.
Then try placing a heavy block on the side extensions of the trunk floor separated by a rubber mat.
It is all experimentation. Also, do not rule out the exhaust itself. Wire the diving weights to the pipes at various places and see if it helps. If they stop vibrating at a certain frequency, then the sympathetic vibration in the sheet metal also stops.
Once one knows where, it might be a simple matter of some sound deadening mat material.

It may be the end pipes as the OEM ones are much heavier due to the silencer. If I add soem weight to them it may get better I don't know. I will have to try it out I guess. I have emailed Adamesh to see what they say, I assume they have tested the exhaust out?

I took a drive today and drove the car with the J-Gate the whole time, I think the drone is really only a problem when driving slow and normally. If you pusht he car a bit and keep it a little in the higher revs it's both mroe enjoyable and the exahust doesnt' really drone much. The car is stupid fast well beyond my capabilities.

obviously a sympathetic vibration. Weight the exhaust pipes at the point where the rear boxes would have their in port. Something tells me that this will at least change it.

I did think about doing that. I still have the old pipes so I can weigh them and add weights to adjust.
