Adaptive cruise control questions
Hi, started up the other day with the dreaded 'Cruise not available' warning. SDD scan shows B1342 (module failure).
Have checked brake switches working OK and +12v main and switched are getting to the module.
Battery replaced for new as well.
Removed the unit from the car and not in too bad physical condition.
I know these are hard to find so would like to do as much as possible before sweating over it big time.
Just some questions to anyone who may have played with these before:-
When rotated there is a rattling sound from inside (the radar scanner?), is this normal?
The connecter's ground pin is not connected to the outer box, intentional?
Has anyone ever successfully opened one of these modules up?
Looks like a PIA
Many thanks guys
Andrew

Module Masters in Idaho can rebuild the module for a fair price. I had them rebuild my drivers seat module for $110.00 and the turn around was less than a week.

I forgot to add that Module Masters offers a five year warranty. My drivers seat modules PCB board was washed, cleaned, the traces repaired and then they resealed it to prevent further corrosion.

Thanks guys.
Module Masters according to their website don't handle this module and, closer to home, (UK ) BBA Reman are just plain hard to get hold of - not a good sign.
Brizzy, your pics are very useful but it looks like a struggle
Wouldn't it be great if that circuit board was used in other (available) Delphi ACCs!?
I'm an electronics engineer so don't want to be beat by this, although I'm realistically probably going to have to play the waiting game until another unit comes up for sale......

It took 18 months to find a ACC module, and I still occasionally look to see if there's any for sale on eBay, I haven't seen any, only the later ones and range rovers. Your an electronics engineer, couldn't you adapt one of the later ones? They do the same job, they look similar, only the plug is different, same shape but more pins. Keep trying BBA reman, I've contacted them a few times. There's also a thread on here, XJR, where the someone tried to eliminate it, or bypass it from car. Good luck.
