Yea I tried. They did not even respond. I filled out one of those forms, about two months ago, and let them know that there are plenty of people who want it made. I know they have one for the X300/308, but they're not responding to me.
By the way, there are a lot of parts they make that you can download the 3D model to print on your own 3D printer. The hinge covers I printed myself and painted them. Look brand New.
Also why is there not a section on either this forum or the X300 where people can donate their STL files? I have made a few for the XK8/X300, and there are many others available.

You could make the thread, a mod could pin it, and the files hosted in some cloud that’s accessible to forum members.
Apparently they read this forum or someone else contacted them. I am still going to continue with my version and will post it when I am completed.
Hello Phil,I sincerely apologize for the long delay in my response.
We already have this product in our queue, and work on it has begun. I kindly invite you to follow our website and stay tuned for when the product becomes available for purchase.
After many hours and lots of testing, I think I finally have it. I still need to do some cleanup and painting, but I made a few modifications to improve the installation. As you can see, there are two slits on the top that fit into the window brackets, eliminating the need for those fragile clips that always break. The bottom wedges underneath the window for added support. I also added holes at the bottom, but I could never get them to line up properly while keeping the light secure. Instead, I added a lip at the top to hold the light in place and will use tape at the bottom for extra stability. It’s made from ABS, so it should withstand the hot New Mexico sun without cracking.

Let me finish the prep work and paint, and I will post the finished product in the next week or so. If you are interested, after I post, you can PM me and we can work out the details on cost. Mainly I just want to recoup the cost of all the filament I went through. For anyone who has a 3D printer, the final work, other than the design, is where the time adds up.
Still have a few more tweaks but this is going in my car. Painted it the color of my interior code. The slits fit the holders on the rear window without the stupid clips. Also has a lip to hold in the light and no need for any adhesive to hold the light.
Cany anyone point me to a photo of the clips/attachment on the rear window? There is nothing on our XK8 rear window and I have the brake light just wedged into place. And yes, the housing is badly cracked needing replacement. I have searched the rear brake light by part number but haven't found any image of the mountings.
Fantastic work CDMA. Maybe consider selling the 3D code as well as finished product?
It appears that Octoclassic has finally made the third brake light for the coupe…….at a premium. I made one more tweak on mine and will send out the pictures when the clear coats dry. Here is my newest version minus the rubber which I will put on after it totally dries

That looks great! I would prefer to buy from you, especially since you’ve taken the time to engineer an improved product.

if you are interested just PM me. They take about 23 hours to print and about and about two to three to finalize them. Right now oatmeal is the color I am doing but if another color is needed I would have to go to my supplier of paint to get it any other color
I received and installed the third brake light cover that Phil (cdma) created. These pictures do not do justice to the assembly. The fit is perfect. It slides into the supports on the glass and holds on without any signs of sliding off. The dimensions and shape are a perfect replica of the original but the attachment style is simpler and greatly improved as you can see in these pictures. The plastic he used also feels more substantial and stronger than the original part.
One thing to note, you will want to harvest this part of the old housing, the plastic that holds the red lens with the LED strip. It is necessary in order to attach the brake light to Phil's housing. Make sure to not break it when removing it from the car, it is very delicate. Mine was already broken, so I had to use super glue. To install onto Phil's housing, you must first connect the light's pigtail to the harness and then slide the light and its holder into Phil's housing. Be gentle with it, as it does not require brute force. Once you've done that, the lights are secure in the housing, and then you can just slide the housing onto the supports on the glass. You will not hear or feel an audible click but you can be assured that the assembly is securely held in place. Do not make my mistake of trying to push it in further expecting it to click in place. By doing that, I actually dislodged right side support from the glass and had to glue it back on to the glass. This proved to be very difficult and resulted in that my assembly is now slightly cocked because I was not able to glue the metal support to the glass in its original position. Despite that, it's hard to tell that it's not on straight.
Overall, I'm very happy. I no longer have the rattling from the broken housing, nor having to support it with a rag. It is a massive improvement. My only criticism, and it's a small one, is that a matte or satin finish would have better matched with the car's interior. However, when you're driving the car, you don't really ever notice that.
