I want to add an auxiliary power outlet in the glove box. Since the Jag part (C2A 1403) is no longer available, I'm looking at universal parts. It looks like the OEM part was a 3 wire connection. All the aftermarkets I've seen are 2 wire. I want it to be hot with the key on.

any sugestions?

The connector at the glove box has ground, battery and ignition switched contacts. All you need to use are the ground and the ignition switched contacts.
Standard .250 spade connectors will plug directly into the pins on that connector. You also need to add a relay to the missing relay position in the trunk fusebox to enable this power.

The third wire is for the bulb that lights the green plastic surround to the socket and a light in the side of the ashtray at night.
