Default Air Intake Hose

I was preparing my XK8 for its first drive of the summer now that it is finally warming up. I noticed that the air intake hose into the filter box was not fully attached. I put it in as far as it would go but it doesn't seem to be fully seated. I think it may be flipped over, the round bump-out on top seems to line up with a hole on the underside of the filter box. Can anyone confirm that the intake hose is upside down?

Looks normal. Don't think it could be inverted as the bend would face up not down as it should.

You can take off the wheel & wheel liner and see if there is some reason the hose won’t slide on as far as you’d like.

As already posted the orientation is correct.

I agree with Stamford, the pipe flange would not present squarely to the filter box if it was upside down. Also, there would be a second feature visible as shown below in image of underside
