aj26 to aj27 attempt, the hard way
I have owed a beautiful non driving xk8 for years and im finally getting down to business.
I bought it with electrical problems,crank no start, 5 years ago. Brought it home got it fired up (inertia switch). I found the headgaskets were blown due to a leaking octopus heater hose. Parked it.... and stole parts from it over the next 5 years
I purchased a wrecked 99 xj8 that I’ve been driving around for an engine donor. I assumed since it was a 99 that it would be an aj26... nope
The xj8 is a throttle cable Aj27.
I am contemplating running the aj27 intake and top feed injectors tbody etc because my aj26 wiring is crumbling apart and has been sitting exposed.
I want to merge harnesses.
switch cam pickups
switch flex plates.
Run aj27 vvt solanoids and just swap pigtails.
I may switch cats to the aj26 cats if I still have them but will swap o2 sensors back to the non wideband ones.
I have done wrx swaps, sr20 swaps, 1jz swaps, diesel swaps etc.
This is only temporary as I have picked up an xjr donor that I plan to gut and graft the entire harness and drivetrain with the xk8 this winter.
