Just tried the E-Bay (China) item obtained for $15 incl. S&H. It is aluminum and comes in different colors. The thread size is 20 mm X 2.5mm RHT and fit very early 2003 and back. The later 2003 and fwd use the 16mm X 2.5mm LHT, I have extra later type obtained from motorcarman if anyone needs it. Enclosed is a link and info from the site. The item fits excellent and is listed for Mazda 2,etc. It took some research to located the large size needed for the early cars and no one lists Jaguar on their fit list. Hope this is some help for early owners.

Thanks Bob for the correction. I should have suspected the thread pitch change. These aluminum eyes are JUST FOR LOADING on rollback., not lifting or actual towing,
