Am I the only one amazed by these cars?

I've never been a guy who particularly cared about what car I drove. I'm told that's unusual but guess it's just never been important to me. I care what guitar I'm playing, quality & size of video screen and stuff like that; as far as material objects go.

This recent purchase of my 2003 XK8 was a result of needing another car, not wanting to pay for a new one and realizing I could actually own this gorgeous vehicle. The experience of driving it surpasses even the beauty of its design.

Had to drive from the North Bay down to Half Moon Bay last week on a perfect 85% California day; loaded up a fresh batch of 6-CD's and man did I have fun. Potential client thanked me for taking the time (45-minute) to drive down and when I said "really, it was my pleasure", I "really" wasn't kidding.

That night my wife was watching some DvD and was wondering if our local video store ever got another she was waiting on back in, so I called and one was just returned; it was about 10pm. I told her I'd go pick it up and she didn't want me to go back out just for that; to which I smiled and said "but, really, it's my pleasure" and she totally understood.

I'm glad fate had this in my future and very appreciate for this forum. The antenna was one thing that always drove me a bit nuts about the XK8 since its HUGE and not necessary most of the time as I rarely listen to the radio but always CD's. Thanks to Rev Sam and others for the info on how to take control of the antenna. After having the car just a few days that mod made it in my car.

Another guitarist with a 03 XK8.
Curious what guitars and rig you play through?

Myself, I play a 79 LP Std with Timbucker pups, a Strat that I have massaged to be really good with Fralin pups and Callaham hardware, a Godin Flat Five X (a great instrument most are not aware of) and a Dusenberg Starplayer TV. I run them through a Fractal AXE-FX Ultra controlled by a MFC-101. On the acoustic side a jumbo Breedlove and an Ovation 12 string. If I do not want to run the acoustics through the Fractal, I run them through a Yamaha AG Stomp. Saving currently for a McKnight acoustic.

Sorry for the thread derail.

I may have heard most of them, and I may have done some of them. ha But be careful, there are probably an equal number of guitar player jokes as well.
At least we seem to have the same taste in vehicles, so, can't be all bad.
Jaguars rock.
