Yes I used 3 degrees for temp in the larger size 125,185, 245 and the F. I tried all of them and thought it was a bit to much. I used the 0,50, 100 and PSI on the oil gauge.
Make sure when you cut the numbers apart you cut straight across and balance out the sides, they are all one width but of course the numbers for the oil gauge range from 1 number to 3 numbers wide, cut excess off.
Because I only only used 3 numbers on temp gauge I used the larger size and since I used larger size there I did same for oil.

The numbers look good, provide a nice reference .

But my only suggestion to WhiteXKR is to do the numbers with a matte black vinyl instead of gloss because the gauges have a matte black finish and the numbers in matte would blend in better. The gloss has a bit of a glare with top down.
But I would still rather have them than not!

Good Luck with you install,
you'll be happy you did.

Happy Motoring...

There are many members of these forums owning cars whose engines were either destroyed or needed very expensive repairs for lack of this easy and reasonably priced mod. I am in the process of installing mine today. A high end touring car with aluminum engine should not have useless gauges.

It looks like a well engineered product. Just ordered mine. I wish I'd got on the waiting list. I'm not worried so much about the discount as getting it promptly.

My intuition said I had a minor overheating problem which I've been chasing with a new thermostat, temp sensor, etc after checking the engine temp frequently with an IR sensor when I stop. Reading Steve's description of typical temperatures it may have all been in my imagination but it would have been a non-issue with a functional gauge.

Falconworks (indie Jaguar Techs) in Tucson, AZ, just now finished installing the RealGauge upgrade for me. They loved the design. The only install change that they did was to solder to the harness wiring, rather than use the supplied connectors. I like how it functions. I haven't had a 'real' coolant gauge since the days of driving my hugely turbocharged rotary RX-7. It's nice to see the real temp and have the ability to see what is actually gong on.

Cool product!

Cool product!

I gave up many weekends of top down driving in the Blue Ridge mountains and endured countless queries from Mrs. WhiteXKR as to why the heck I was so preoccupied over weekends to devise this little gem.

It is testimonials like this that made it all worthwhile!!!

I have had mine for quite some time now & love the idea of actually seeing how hot my car is. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I also have to say the support is second to none.

Hah! My fiancee, Kate, took the XKR out for a spin and reported, with great concern, that my engine was overheating. I had not told her about the upgrade with the RealGauge. She knows NOTHING about cars, so I tend to not fill her in about such things. Like many without car experience, she thought that seeing the needle above the 'half way' mark was terrifying and that my engine was about to have a melt down. Hah! I pointed out that many auto makers have the coolant level 'hang out' at the mid range so that people like her won't freak out. She now understands my interest in seeing an accurate interpretation of the actual temperature. =)

I am trying to remember when the car makers began to change from true gages to indicators. (such as red lights and gages that show less than useful information)
My History of cars:
1957 Ford Fairlane 500...had true gages
1959 Cadillac Sedan de Ville....had true gages
1967 Opel Kadett Rallye ...had true gages
1965 Ford Mustang....had true gages
1969 SS Camaro....had true gages
1969 SS 396 Chevelle ..had true gages
1966 Ford Mustang....had true gages
1963 Greenbriar Van....Had true gages
1966 Chevy Caprice....Had Lights for "HOT"
1977 Lincoln Continenetal.....Had "TEMP" Light
1975 Chevy Monza....had real gages
1962 Jaguar Mark X...had real gages
1980 Olds Custom Cruiser.....had real gages
1987 Mitsubishi Van.....had real gages
1982 BMW 320i....had real gages
2000 Ford Taurus ....had gages but unsure if they showed true temps
1999 Buick Catalina...... real gages
1983 Porshe 944.....had real gages
1977 Chevy Silverado Step Side...had real gages
2009 Ford Flex Limited....has gages...unsure if they reflect real readings
2003 Jaguar Vanden Plas.....has the stupid gages

A quick question. What would I need to move my Realgauge from a 2000 to 2005?

Some small tie wraps, adhesive Velcro, and replacement wire taps. Also gauge labels if you used them. Contact me at https://www.thejagwrangler.com/contact-us.html and I can provide them.

If you have the oil pressure option you will needs some new gaskets also.
