Default Annoying squeak

I have identified the squeak as this black bar rubbing on the engine sump. Is it installed the right way?

Black bar near sump

I had to replace subframe and can’t remember which way it was originally installed?

Rabs,
It's possible that your bar is installed upside down. The way to confirm is that when correctly installed, there is a single hole for attaching the Alternator cooling duct (see pic). The hole is on one end only and should align with the Oil Filter. I can't see the hole on yours - which may mean it's on the other end!!

Have just checked and it’s on the wrong side and facing the engine not the ground.

is there an easy way to get the bolts out without having to remove the subframe mounting brackets. Do not fancy having to remove them.

thanks for help.

Yes there's an easy way, you do NOT need to remove the subframe brackets. The bolts will slide out. There is a pipe that you will have to push clear of the bolt head during removal (I think it's Oil cooler pipes).

I also have an annoying squeak in my car. It happens whenever I drive enthusiastically with the wife in the car. Having noticed that the squeak is transferable between vehicles I surmised it must be the wife. Removing the offending component seems to resolve the problem
