Default Another Door Locking Issue

As with many others that have encountered this PIA problem I am now in the midst of the battle. I have read countless threads on this issue but am still at a loss.

1) FOB doesn't lock or open the doors but works with all other functions
2) Key does lock and unlock driver door
3) Manually locking/unlocking with interior handles works on both doors
4) Manually locking the driver's door DOES NOT lock the passenger door
5) Shifting into gear does not lock either door
6) There are no CEL or warning lights showing

Things that have been done:
1) Replaced 10amp fuse in passenger fuse box as it was toast but this, to my dismay, did not resolve the issue
2) Brand new battery
3) Hard reset several times
4) Sprayed WD40 into the lock mechanisms
5) Replaced the door lock relay in the passenger fascia

When sitting in the front seat and pressing the lock button on the fob i notice a slight clicking sound coming from both doors and the area behind the glove box (which I currently have removed). I also hear the same sound when manually locking either door.

Questions:

Can a failed microswitch cause this kind of failure or would a microswitch in both doors have to be faulty? If so, which microswitch(s) could cause this?
Could IDS help to identify the problem?
What else might I look at that could be causing this issue?

The door lock/unlock does rely on the microswitches working correctly, so I think I would want to rule out the microswitches before suspecting faulty modules. Your blown fuse might be a clue, so I would check exactly what that powers and make 100% sure that you have checked for any other fuses associated with the locking system. You might learn something from measuring the current as you try to lock/unlock.

Jagrepair is a good source of information:-

What other fuses are associated with door locks? The replaced 10amp has not failed blown again. I've read just about every article on Jagrepair lol. Would microswitches in both doors need to fail in order to see this behavior or could just a single microswitch in either door cause this?

Hi tmattson 57
I have similar but not exact the same problem. Now I am trying to locate my door lock relay but cant find it.
Removed the carpet on passenger foot well but cant see the relay. Should I remove the glove compartment?
Please guide me

DRIVEAWAY LOCKING might not be configured to the car. (it can be enabled/disabled)
Did this feature work in the past?

The keyfob transmitters usually lose the lock/unlock before the headlamps and boot lid release functions due the fact that the buttons wear out from use.

Does the LOCK/UNLOCK switch on the console panel work the locks?

The wiring diagram for your car will tell you which fuses do what. The fuse that blew is a clue if you check where it goes, it might point at what the problem is, or what to test first - whatever caused it to blow might now be nothing more than an outline in smoke residue. Of course the fuse might be nothing to do with the locking system as you didn't tell us which one it is.

My apologies Motorcarman but I am unaware of any door lock/unlock switch on my console. Where is that? Also, would IDS help to troubleshoot this issue?

The fuse I replaced was the #2 10amp fuse in the passenger fuse box which I understand is for the door locking function.

I also forgot to mention that the security system arms when you press the door lock button on the fob.

Just a short comment/question in between:
"5) Replaced the door lock relay in the passenger fascia"

When doing so - did you have to remove the glove compartment to access the relay?

Sorry about mentioning the lock button on the console panel.
I was thinking X308, not X100.
I drive my sedans more often than convertibles lately so it stuck in my mind.

My apologies for the delayed response. Yes you have to remove the glove box to access the relay. It's much easier to remove/reinstall the glove box if you remove it like this...

Thanks - I saw the youtube instruction and could not find any fault with the relays.
Next thing is to remove the original, and now wery old alarm backup battery (if fitted)

I'm still having no luck with this. I'm not the greatest electrical schematic reader so if someone has experience troubleshooting this problem I'd be very appreciative if they would chime in. I have not yet opened the door panels to look at the microswitches as I would like to be sure that these actually could cause my problem.
