Default Another Potential Module Repair Option....

On the PBS TV show "MotorWeek" last night, they did a segment on a company in Georgia called UpFix. The UpFix rep claimed "If it has a circuit board, we can repair it and reprogram it if necessary." Sounds a bit bold to me, especially when dealing with obscure marques such as Jaguar. Their website is www.upfix.com and their phone is (888) 979-9343.

If anyone decides to give them a try with a faulty XK8 / XKR module, be sure to keep us posted on how it goes....

A bold claim for sure, but not impossible. Pretty much anyone with experience of fault finding and repairing electronics can fix the typical faults that occur on the modules on our cars. The vast majority of components are still readily available and the stuff that isn't, rarely goes wrong.

As for reprogramming, have a look at this video showing how an XK8 speedo can be cloned, you might be surprised:-
