i have an xk8 2005 convertible - i suspect that the 2 read quarter windows are not resetting correctly after the roof is closed, as i am convinced that when driving the amount of wind rush / noise is loader than normal. Is this possible and how can i re set the these windows ?

They are adjustable but not resetable.

 

Could you elaborate just a little .. how does one adjust? The "button down" for 5 seconds made it better, but still a little "weepy" on the left side. Seems the rain last week didn't get in, but I still see a little light.

 

The door window range is reset with the down/hold, up/hold method you refer to. Beyond that both the door windows and the rear quarter windows can be adjusted by removing the interior trim and loosening bolts and moving the window regulator and re tightening.

 

Hey guys, I'm drafting (as we speak) a thread explaining how to adjust your door windows, so it seals better against the rear 1/4 glass. There's a ton of adjustments...sit tight, and its got some DIY instructions with lots of pics to help you out. I'll need a few more days to finish it, I'm extracting some JTIS pages and intermixing my own instructions and photos with it.

Don't worry about the rear 1/4 glass, the adjustments of the door glass will seal it right up.
