Default Any technical info out there?

The lack of details of the motor etc are frustrating. Does the 4.2 have forged pistons? What do the connecting rods look like? Are they any good? Is there anywhere someone has posted disassembly of the motor online? What do the main caps look like? 2 bolt mains? 4 bolt? Cross bolted? Does it have a crank scaper?

Has anyone anywhere in the world built any year of XK8/R up other than stick-on parts where they told what they did?

Crank is forged, Pistons not sure, rods are forged steel sintered. The latter 2 are from Mahle and are relatively light, not sure who makes the crank. Engine has oil jets pointing at the pistons, which is good for cooling. No separate main caps, its one big bed plate, and around the crack there are 4 bolts. No scraper.

Many have worked on these engines.

Is the engine any good? Well so far mine is holding very well (200.000 km with Nikasil, of which 80.000 Km heavily modified, engine is in top shape, and now for 60.000 km on 4.2 engine).

Ferlito raced with stock engine parts in their stypes.

What do you want to do/want to know?
