I was looking at my engine the other day and realized I need to replace the bypass hose. I've got a hose on the shelf listed at 1 1/2 inches (diameter), not even sure what I bought it for, but certainly wondering if she'd fit. All the places I've checked so far show the part number but not the hose size.

Figured I'd ask in case any of you might know the proper size. If I had 2 cars I"d just pull the old one off and eyeball it, but my good old bronco died and I decided a long time ago it wasn't worth investing any $$ to "fix" my series 3 XJ6. .

I have attached the catalog excerpt from SNG Barratt for the bypass hose the dimensions are listed.

Is there anything special about this piece of hose? Can I just use a slice of any radiator hose that has the same inner diameter?

 

There is nothing special about the hose other than metric dimensions. They are cheap as chips I would just get the OEM.
