Default Anyone Know What This Is ?

While poking around under the hood with a flashlight I found this on the chassis rail on the forward left side of the engine compartment - right underneath the dipstick. Any ideas ?? (2004 XKR 4.2L)

Obviously a filter. Check if it will fit in the hydaulic pump reservoir. If not it will make a fine wine decanter filter.

looks like an oil screen to me, don't think it came off your car it looks too clean. Google image search says it's either a hat or a cuff link.

Am I the only one that thinks that that doesn't belong to your car? It looks like the top part of a microphone. The metal mesh that covers the diaphragm.

I checked through the entire parts catalogue and couldn't find anything remotely close.

Clean it up and use it as a pin cushion.

It looks like the in-line filter for the coolant fill system used in the factory. Most likely fell off during routine kit maint between shifts. Send the picture to Jaguar heritage, they will liaise with the plant and then you'll know for sure.

Default Part Load Engine Breather Screen?

Howdy Folks:
There is a Part Load Engine Breather Screen inside the left cam cover which I question that this could possibly be it. I know that Motorcarman posted a TSB on the the cleaning of that orifice. Maybe he or someone else that is knowledgeable can come forward and identify it one way or the other. It seems that I had read of negative effects if that screen were missing due to such as servicing.
