Anyone using runflats on their XK ??
The 99 XK8 I just purchased has HRE 540 3 piece wheels on it. They run about 1700 each. of course they come in 3 pieces so they CAN be repaired when you have a flat or dent a rim, still a costly repair...
Question is, I used to have run flats on my Vette for THAT reason not to damage the rim during a flat.
Anyone using run flats on their XK and if so.. what kind, how do you like them?
thanks in advance..
My cat currently has Pirelli Assimetrico's on front and Sumitomo HTR Z III's on the rear.

Haven't seen or heard much mention of anyone using runflats here......that not to say they don't just never really been a topic here.
FWIW - I don't use them on my A6 and wouldn't personally as per the reasons Keith gave......terribly noisy and not the best ride!
that being said, do you have a preference in the tires you are using? thanks

Hey there, things may be differrent over the pond, I don't know.....
For me, I always usually go for Bridgestone, Continentals or Pirelli's and also WITH Rim protection on these extra load tyres.
After over 20 years and over a million miles I've yet to damage a rim by having a puncture at speed.
Dunno if that helps or answers your question?
i have the bridgestone runflats 255/40/18 all round,i found them fantastic,i would go as far as to say the best tyres ive ever had on a car, very low noise great grip and stopping distance, just cant fault them whatsoever.
