When I got my XKR a couple of weeks ago I found this cable snaking out of the console cubby and recognize it as an Apple charge/connect plug. Because it looks so amateur of an installation I assumed it was done aftermarket by a prior owner but now learn from this great forum that it is OEM wiring. 😳
I'm an Android guy through and through so I want to link to the vehicle and have seen that there's devices to translate the connection from Apple to Droid. I know that the plug on the white end is not the 30 PIN connection. Do I pull the white cord from the black one in order to connect the adapter? I've tugged on that connection and it's really tight. Does it separate with more force?
Lastly, what connector/adapter is best for the application. Any links to products are appreciated and I thank you!
That isn't an OEM installation, it is, as you first thought, an aftermarket add on. You'll have to take it all apart to find out what it is and if you can use it with your Android device.
In fact, what car is this? Is it anX100 or an X150?
It's an X150 I believe.. not a fan of the cupholder either. Their only good feature is that it's removable for cleaning, the weird is each side is a different diameter. I suppose if I still drank, the driver side would hold a 12 oz Old Style. 😳
