Default Appreciating the Car

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to share what a great day I had yesterday with the XK8. It was a warm sunny day out here in So Cal. I got to drive the along the ocean mid day top down. I drove a few miles of newly paved freeway without traffic (greatly exceeding the posted speed signs - 2x+ ) . And then finished the evening by driving home at 11pm with the top down and it was still in the low 80's...

These are such enjoyable cars (when all the parts are working) to drive. I am delighted that the warm weather is early this year (in the 90's this past weekend) and I am really getting to enjoy the car.

Hope everyone gets an enjoyable drive this week !!!

Dave B

PS - I forgot one of the highlights of the afternoon. I met up with my father who drives an 03 XK8 in black. I followed him along the coast and for a couple of stops, and it was kind of cool to see the two topless cats chasing each other from the stop lights, and parking side by side. Good Father/Son bonding time - LOL

I can't imagine NOT being able to drive The Jag every single day.......here in Florida. I guess it makes you stop and be thankful for the things that you take for granted!
Regards,
Brian

Agreed 100%! It was just plain depressing to drive a rental for a month during prime convertible weather while my beauty was going through some extensive diagnostics. Having her back is like rediscovering the joys of this car all over again.
And my thoughts about buying a "more practical" daily driver have been firmly set aside
