My 2005 XKR has the armrest with the cupholder. I prefer the look of the non-cupholder armrest (besides having some minor issues with my armrest and already having another cupholder option I use in the car). From talking to a jag parts person they said the non-cupholder armrests won't fit on a 2005 XKR. Has anyone been able to make the swap somehow anyway? Thanks for the forum's help as always.

 

One from an older XJ will work. Google search the forum and you will find several threads.

I have one on my 1998, but have added built-in cupholders. It was an easy bolt on swap.

 

The XJ40 and XJS were the last to have console lids without cupholders here in North America.

They use magnets to hold close but can be modified to work.

The trim colors are NOT compatible but can be died to match.

I installed an X300 LFJ (nimbus) console lid in my LDY (SAVILLE GREY) trim XJ40.
I had the local interior guy dye it to match my XJ40 trim.

 

I did the same. I also swapped the catch for the magnetic one. Massive improvement over the original armrest.
