Default ASC - normal operation

Hello again all.

A couple of times recently I have pulled out into traffic from a dirt road and the rev just drop. I assume this is the ASC/traction control kicking in, but is this huge drop in power usual for an XK8?

I have had other cars with ASC but these will reduce the power a little, just enough to stop the wheel(s) spinning and off you go

Appreciate the help!

Paul

PL999,

More than likely normal, my impression. I've got a pretty steep hill/curve combination nearby that sets it off about half the time ... even with a dry road.

Surprisingly, I've found in the snow it's pretty seamless ... just sort of calms things down if a wheel tries to get loose.

Thanks Dennis

a little disappointing really for such a great car otherwise.

The snow will be here in a few weeks so will get a chance to really test it!
I haven't played with turning the ASC off and on yet....again, playtime in the snow I think!

regards

Paul

In the older XK8's the power being cut to the engine was much more noticeable than in the newer one's. I think they updated the computer programing to make it feel less intrusive.
