Aston Martin exhaust on XK8 ??
Has anyone attempted putting Aston Martin exhaust parts on an XK8....?? I was behind a pretty new DBS the other day and at idle the sound was terrific.... like slow drum role on Timpani.....
The only one that would come close in stock form is a DB7 exhaust. I know Tony (XKRacer) has fitted an Aston exhaust in the past, although I'm not sure which Aston it was from and it required major reconstruction of the rear floorpan if I recall.
If you want to spend way too much money on an exhaust, BUT don't want to hack up the car to do it, get the Arden one. It sounds great. Kind of like a cross between a muscle car and a Maserati depending on rpm and engine load.
Arden Exhaust
It's on sale! Only 2610 Euros. I think that includes free shipping.
Take care,
George

And after you stick an Aston Martin exhaust on your Jag hang some fuzzy dice on the rear view mirror. One makes as much sense as the other.
Seriously RWRN. Manufacturers spend gobs of money tuning exhaust systems for various characteristics including sound. You could install a complete AM exhaust, from manifold to tail pipe, on your XK8 and not get the same sound or even a sound you like. You will surely get a vacuumed up bank acct.

Requires the removal of the boot floor, you still get to keep a good piece of it you basically lose the spare well well!
I just adapted a few bits instead!

I did it because I wanted to make use of the vacuum baffles controlling the exhaust note,,,,, Too much grief not enough gain, unless you do it yourself for fun
