Default Atlanta Area Mechanic

I live in the DeKalb area of Atlanta and I'm trying to find a good mechanic for my 1997 XK8. The Stability Control Program error message just started appearing and the ABS light is on. I have decided to stop using the dealer and would like to find an inependent mechanic. The car only has 38,000 miles and I am very picky with it so if anyone in the atlanta area can suggest a good mechanic that they have used and are happy with the work, please let me know. Thanks

That sucks to hear. But I have a suggestion: try to getin touch with hlgeorge on here. He's an active member from the Atl area and could likely guide you to a decent shop. Hope you get this resolved.

I have used a few, this place is the only one that has performed quality work for me. I am sure there are others but I feel safe recommending them.

Understand your need to find a quality mechanic, and you should, but I can't help with that from Dallas. However, the ASC/ABS errors are very common and most of the fixes are simple DIY-worthy efforts.

Search the forum and you will find many, many references and solutions. Some are as simple as removing the wheels and cleaning one sensor. Give it a try. Nothing to lose and you'll save a ton of money.

Default Help for you right in Tucker!

I'v been very satisfied with Jaguar / Cadillac of Northlake. They've helped me keep an older XJ and now my 2001 XKR running well, and also did great pre-purchase inspections on both.

Randy runs the office, and Chris is the owner. Good people.
