Default Atlanta - Need front brake pads and rotors

I have to replace these on my 2005 XK8. Any recommendations for a shop in the Atlanta area that is not a dealership?

You're not considering DIY?

It's one of those jobs that can save you $$'s in labour and gives the opportunity to source parts at the best cost.

Agree on that, it is a dead easy job to do, and your savings will be massive. I just replaced my rear pads this morning with Brembo P36020. Cost about $50 for the set, took about 30 minutes all in all.

Just watch out for the *really* cheap discs, I bought a pair of those for the front - they were corroding pretty bad and had the pads stick to them when having the car standing around for a few days.

I don't have the tools nor the skills to go DIY.

Try Caddilac - Jaguar of Northlake. He sourced some used parts he had on hand to repair my tranny. Otherwise I would have had to sell it for parts.

I checked out Buckhead Imports (thanks for the referal) and they seemed genuine. But, I went with Professional Automotive Repair in Alpharetta. Great work and prices. They work on my other cars as well but are relatively new to servicing Jags. Very satisfied.

Any competent mechanic can change pads and rotors. Unless a job in question requires particular skills or specialized tools, go to a shop that makes you feel comfortable. Having said that, I myself am not a DIY either, although I did replace the headlight bulbs myself
