Default Audio & video clip of my sports exhaust

As I can't seem to edit the title of the main thread I started on my XKZ exhauts, I thought I would just post this link to the 30-second YouTube clip I made, so you can hear the noise.

YouTube - ‪2005 Jaguar XKR with XKZ exhaust‬‏

I have a 2-speaker + sub system on my desktop PC and if I turn the bass up to maximum, the clip sounds about 80% true-to-life.

If you listen carefully, you can hear that the chirping birds at the beginning of the clip were frightened away by the noise. This was not deliberate

How is the resonance while driving around normal?

I daily drive my car and would love a little more noise, but I don't want it to drone at my mostly speed stable 55mph commute(back roads).

No resonance. The best noise it makes is when you start up for about 2 seconds, then it dies down. You can hear it a bit while driving around town, but it's indiscernable above about 40mph. Under hard acceleration, say 50-70mph, it can heard a tiny bit, but it's not in any way intrusive or annoying.

This video is a full Elite exhaust, and personally I don't like it. My XKZ exhaust is less noisy, less... 'brutal', and only cost $200 I believe the Elite system, like most full sports exhausts, is upwards of $1,500.

The clip sounds great and this straight pipe system sounds like what I'm looking for. You might see another post like yours soon enough.

This one sounds like a Mustang GT! Frog, yours sounds like mine that has the center duel muffler replaced with two pipes and an x-pipe.

I have the same exhaust on my 4.0 XKR convertibe but I'm tired of the droning, I can't understand how you don't hear it? It is particularly obvious at abou7 1800rpm and 50ish mph....which unfortunately is quite often for me.

I've stacked my boot with carpet and underlay to reduce it, and it has done, but there's no mistaking it's still there and it's not nice.

Before your spend a lot more $$$, replace the "X" crossover with an "H" pipe (shouldn't cost more than $100), and see what you think. I have that set up on my 4.0 XKR and LOVE it! No drone at constant speed and plenty of "I just passed you" on acceleration. DaleD
