Auto climate control and blower speed
Question regarding the above - the vehicle handbook says -
"Automatic temperature control operates between 17°C and 31°C (61°F to 89°F). In addition, 'Hl' and 'LO' settings provide maximum heating or cooling at maximum blower speed. Blower speed can be manually reduced as required."
Maybe I'm reading this wrongly, but when I'm in auto mode and I want to reduce the blower strength, turning the blower down kicks me out of auto mode. I want the temperature to be controlled automatically but with a lower blower speed. How do you stay in auto mode and change the HI and LO setting? It doesn't seem to cover this in the handbook.

Not sure if this answers your question, and not sure what year of manufacture you have, (it does help to post that info with each question), but in my 2002 XKR you can get a lower fan (blower?) speed by reducing the desired temperature a little with the blue or red temp up or temp down buttons. The car will still change rapidly to your desired temperature, but with a lower fan speed. And you will still be in the AUTO mode.
Leaving the control on MAX means maximum effort to reach that temperature. So obviously the tan will work at top speed in order to achieve that goal. It would be counterintuitive to want both the max lowest or highest temperature without also having the fan engage at its maximum speed to achieve the goal as soon as possible.

PS / still not sure if this addresses your question.

Thanks, that's what I thought was probably the case, but thank you for confirming it.
When you say "leaving the control on MAX" - how do you get it off of max, that's really my question.

On my car anything anything below 60 F is MIN and above 90 F is displayed as MAX

Even though as soon as I manually set the fan speed the auto light goes out?

Hello,
As soon as the fan control is switched to manual, the air conditioning automatically switches to manual mode and no longer automatically regulates the fan speed, even when the desired temperature is reached.
Or perhaps I have misunderstood the problem.
Best regards, Willi

What he said ^^. I leave mine set at the optimum temperature for me and never touch it. Unfortunately, if I have a passenger, they will inevitably start punching the buttons for max heat or cool. so ungenteel. ;^)

automatic means automatic. You set the target temp and the car’s climate control brain does everything else automatically .
Touch anything and you lose the automatic process. So don’t touch the fan, or the vent selection, or anything else. The computer knows better than you where to send the air and what fan speed to use, etc etc in order to reach the numerical target temp that you chose.

Just to verify. Set desired temperature with blue / red. Push Auto and your fan speed and outlets are adjusted automatically. BUT even if you set fan speed or desired air outlet manually, it will still try to hold your set temperature.
I hate it when people dont understand thermostats and set temp to min or max! :-)
