I have the premium audio with nav so am using a PIE AUX in connected to the nav input with an LD-10 pre-amp.

I can adjust such that there is consistent triggering for music without distortion but podcasts and dialog in movies will still cut in and out.

Are there opinions on whether the triggering level problem likely at the PIE input or at the amp?

The problem is with the trigger delay in the PIE AI-AUX. It simply is not a good solution when there are pauses in the sound.

Search the forum..there are some write-ups on a harwired tap into Alpine AI-NET triggered with a switch or relay...that may be your best bet.
