backup (reverse) light?
I've got one of my backup lights out. I went to replace it a few months ago, and it was light up a bit more dimly than the other side. I decided to just roll with it for the time being and deal with it later.
I'm now "dealing with it". I ordered the proper bulbs off rockauto (same voltage/wattage as the one that works properly), and it won't light up at. I swapped in the working bulb from the other side, and that didn't work either. So something weird has happened. I'm not an electronics guy - what to do?

1) all the bulbs share common ground. While many of us have replaced the ground wire, both as precaution and or a fix, if your other bulbs light the small ground wire isn't the culprit.
2) corrosion: these sockets, and sometimes the bulb base, need attention once in a while.
If the bulb works fine on the other side, let's focus on the socket. Two ways to clean it: a plain old pencil eraser is a great cleaner for the contacts. OTOH inserting and removing multiple times brushes contacts clean.
Let's start there. Summary: are other lights ok in that pod? Bulb works ok on other side? Clean contacts and let us know.
