Default Bad battery warning

I was reminded this past Friday that when the driver's door window starts loosing its program it is time to replace the battery. This is fairly well known in the forums but I was hopeful it just needed a charge. Not so and had to be rescued with a jump while at a restaurant. My car (2000 XKR, 64K) still had its original battery with "Made In Spain" marked on it so they do last awhile. I picked a new one up for $135 on my way home.

There is some speculation regarding why that window goes first but no real answers other than if your drivers door window repeatedly looses it's program it is because the battery is low.

could it have been actually, designed that way? The driver would be the first affected by such an inconvenience, and would take such a sign to check out the 12V....before left stranded at a shopping mall, or favorite restaurant. yup, I made a jab

I think that it is because the fuse for the window operation is 30A. Drawing 30A on a weak battery will draw the voltage below the approximate 10.0v it takes to maintain the computer systems of the car.
