bad ecm ?

Default bad ecm ?

does anybody know how to check if the ecm is bad the car is hard to start .runs super ritch .wont talk to any scan tool (have hoked up 4 name brand shop scan tools) .cooling fans run as soon as key is turned .puled out ecm .found it had a rebuild tag on it (bba remfg inc ).called no info about reflash or program . any tips would be a great help thanks dan

This looks like a tough one. There are fuses for the OBD plug, have you checked them? But the symptoms do point to a more serious problem.
Best to contact bba and ask them to test it. It probably won't be covered by warranty, but maybe they can repair it if it is faulty. Usually, repair facilities like ASI will not work on modules repaired by others, but they might agree to test it.

Usually not bad PCM. Suspect fuses, relays, wiring, connectors, tools, etc.

The '97 ECM is often a problem. Modules LJA1410AH & AK subject to failure, LJA1410AC was better.
