Default Battery for 2001 Jaguar XKR Convertible

Hello,

Looking to see if anyone has a recommended battery for their XK Convertibles? I have the factory battery and it has lasted 10 years in Fla!

Not sure if anyone has gone with a gel battery, etc? The only reason I ask is the battery I'm currently using leaked a little bit and there is a tiny bit of corrosion I need to clean up in the trunk.

Just wanted to start a thread to discuss before I purchase.

AGM batteries from Sears, Advance Auto and Interstate are available now for this vehicle for just slightly more than conventional batteries. A good investment IMO, especially if the car is not a daily driver.

+1 on the AGM battery. I bought one from Advance Auto Parts and it was only a bit more than their best conventional battery. And installation is free. They even connected an external power module to the OBDII connector to keep power to the car while the battery was replaced.

Howdy Folks:
Even though Advance Auto online promo code HUGE50 ($50 off) will not work for this battery since it is in store pickup, Advance Auto promo code TRT41 ($40 off) will definitely work.
I'm glad that they now have the AGM, however, my Interstate is still going strong.

Thanks everyone! Exactly why I posted and EXACTLY why this forum is invaluable - I had heard of a Gel Cell battery, but AGMs are new (to me anyway). I guess it won't leak/spill?

The car is not a daily driver and according to the fact sheet, AGMs work better in heat as well, so in Fla this is a win!
