Doing another set of these today. If you have occasion to do this job be sure and deal directly with SB wheels on the rings. Their customer service is awesome.

If there is a mechanic on the eastern seaboard who does wheel rebuilds please pass his name along.
Call wheel works in Burlington, NJ. Tell him George From J&M In Hamilton sent you. He took apart a set of GFG wheels I have on my SL500 and powder coated the centers matte black, and repolished the lips. I have a set of matte black with chrome MB star center caps on the way (bc he coated the whole center cap, and I think it needs a bit of chrome to break it up) but he had these back to me within a week.

Take care,

George

If you don't need paint or powdercoat we turn these around same day. The price from Coventry West is a little high but if you are doing them yourself you'll more than make it up in labor and shipping, and you don't have to wait for your "car parts" to clear customs. If you plan a few weeks out I've found that Steve from SB usually ships the same day you order.

Did you follow the instructions in the article? Did you have any problems? Where do you get the spline tool to remove the bolts? How long did it take to change out a wheel trim ring?

Do you have any pictures of the wheels without the stim rings? Did you have them polished?

Unfortunately that guy at Wheel Works in NJ says he doesn't do these wheels - can't fix the chrome trim rings.

Anyone know of a shop, preferably in the Northeast, that will do these? Dealers won't do this either.

I recently replaced two rings myself following the article and found it to be a straightforward job. The tedious part was torquing down all the bolts properly. I also used some heat on each bolt before removing them just to be on the safe side.

Default 19 x 9 inch mag wheel clearance

These came on the Lincoln Mk4 so they are 5 x 4.5.... will an adaptor be ok?
I have a set of 19 x 9 inch wheels with the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern and mounting at the outer side....has anyone had clearance issues
mounting larger wheels and tire on the xk8 ? my plan is to put a used tire on one wheel and try them for fit
